Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Werewolf Discord bot ("the Bot", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and your choices. By adding or using the Bot, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

The Bot only collects the minimum data needed to run games and track stats. We do not collect real names, email addresses, payment information, or any data beyond what is listed here.

• Discord identifiers — user IDs, server (guild) IDs, and channel/message IDs, used to run games and attribute stats.
• Game statistics — for each server, a per-player tally of games played, wins, and losses.
• Transient game state — open lobbies and in-progress games (the player list, chosen mode, and the temporary game channel ID) are stored so a game survives a bot restart. These records are deleted when the game ends or is aborted.
• Moderation records — if a user is blocked from using the Bot, their user ID and a reason may be stored.

2. Message content

The Bot reads messages sent in the game channel only while a game is in progress, solely to facilitate in-game chat and gameplay mechanics (such as detecting specific keywords required by certain roles). Message content is processed in memory in real time and is not stored, logged, or used for any other purpose.

3. Direct messages

During a game the Bot sends each player a direct message containing their secret role and their night-time action prompts. The Bot does not read or store your other direct messages.

4. How we use information

• To run games — assign roles, manage the private game channel, and resolve night/day actions.
• To keep persistent player statistics and leaderboards per server.
• To restore open lobbies and clean up game channels after a restart.

5. How information is stored

Data is stored in a hosted PostgreSQL database (Supabase) and the Bot runs on a cloud host. Access is restricted to the Bot's operators. We take reasonable measures to protect the data, but no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

6. Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising. Data is only processed by the infrastructure providers that operate the Bot (such as Discord and our database/hosting providers) for the sole purpose of running the service.

7. Data retention

• Lobby and in-progress game records are temporary and removed automatically when the game ends or is aborted.
• Player statistics are kept until you or a server administrator requests their deletion.

8. Your choices & deletion requests

You may request the deletion of your stored statistics, or a server's data, at any time. To do so, contact us at afutureadam@gmail.com or in our support server. Removing the Bot from a server stops any further data collection for that server.

9. Children's privacy

The Bot is not directed at children under 13, and you must meet Discord's minimum age requirement to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age.

10. AI training

Your data is never used to train AI or machine-learning models. We do not license, sell, or otherwise provide any collected data to AI companies or dataset aggregators for that purpose.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Bot after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
